We fell in love with Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski at the Sochi Olympics where they served as TODAY.com's Figure Skating Fashion Police, and the duo are bringing back their style and sense of humor for Saturday's Kentucky Derby, where they'll join the official coverage from NBC Sports.

The most important question for the duo, of course, is what they'll be wearing.

"Picking our Derby day outfits was stressful," Tara told TODAY. "I think I was just sitting in a sea of hats and dresses and five outfits for two days. I packed three bags. It's unacceptable, I am sorry."

"Between us we have about 17 pairs of shoes," Johnny revealed. "And 12 of them are mine."

"I have three pairs of Hunters here," Tara laughed.

"Just for the barns!" exclaimed Johnny. "We're wearing rubber boots, who would have thought. Mine have cows on them."

The pair, who joined TODAY's Al Roker on Friday to talk about the standout hats at the Kentucky Derby, said nothing can come close to their excitement about their own headgear.

"Choosing the hat was the most important for me, for Derby day," said Johnny. "I was inspired by Pegasus, the greatest of all horses. Wings, feathers, plumage — I went really over the top, and I can't wait for the world to see it. And then everything else is kind of the stem to the rose that will be my head."

"The hats are the best," Tara agreed. "I didn't realize til I started the process, because I had my hats custom made, they're genius. They do these freeform shapes and sizes — oh I love it."
