Figure skating and fashion sensations Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski made a big announcement Wednesday morning from the Orange Room: they're having a baby!
Well, that was a Johnny-rehearsed joke. But they did deliver big news. The duo, who rocked the Sochi Olympics as announcers and fur coat-lovers, has been named NBC Sports' lead figure skating announce team for the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
"I am so excited," 1998 Olympic gold medalist Lipinski told Tamron Hall. "I cannot wait for this adventure to start. Sochi was so much fun — I'm just honored to be a part of the team now."
After sharing the news, Weir and Lipinski took over TODAY's Instagram and Twitter accounts for the 8 a.m. hour. As you can see, they felt right at home in Studio 1A:
Weir and Lipinski will make their debut as lead announcers on Oct. 26 at 4 p.m. ET on NBC’s two-hour telecast of the 2014 HHilton Honors Skate America.
